    Peanut Butter Moo’d Muffins

    September 25, 2010 /

It’s been awhile but I’m back with a new blog post for all you Peanut Butter Moo’d lovers. If you’re not familiar with Jamba Juice’s Peanut Butter Moo’d, it’s a smoothie consisting of peanut butter, bananas, a chocolate base, soy milk, and nonfat frozen vanilla yogurt. It’s very high in calories so I tend to just buy them for the kids. You can easily make your own version at home which we do quite often.

    Applesauce Bars

    July 30, 2010 /

Applesauce is a staple in our home. It’s my go to sub for butter or oil and it’s always a great snack to have on hand for kids. I wanted to whip up something quick and light and came across this recipe. I had all of the ingredients on hand and I liked that it called for a small amount of butter.

    Easy Lemon Cookies

    June 28, 2010 /

Lemon cookies are one of my favorites! Less than five ingredients make this recipe simple and fun to make with kids. I also like the fact that you don’t have to be Betty Crocker to make this recipe, making it great for someone who is just getting into baking. I didn’t have lemon extract on hand the first time I made this recipe but the lemon flavor still came shining through. Most reviews state to leave out the lemon extract and use fresh lemon juice in place of it to help out with the fruit loop taste that some have mentioned. I think trying the fresh lemon juice will help with…

    Easy Fruit Oatmeal Bars

    May 14, 2010 /

Having three kids and feeding them healthy can sometimes be an overwhelming task. I’m always on the search for healthy and easy snacks that can also be doubled so that I can freeze the additional batch for future use. My kids love several of the bars you can purchase from Trader Joe’s but I have to buy at minimum two boxes, hiding one, and having one last until dusk the day I purchase them. Six bars per box doesn’t last long in our house so I’ve been wanting to make homemade bars to save money. Last week I was craving oatmeal bars and also had a nice new jar of…

    Our Family Fun Night Cookie

    March 12, 2010 /

Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chips, and Oatmeal make this cookie loved by all in our house! Friday Family Fun Night aka FFN is our night to spend time together as a family, enjoy a treat, and unwind from the week. We usually choose a family friendly movie, play charades (kids favorite!), or pick out a board game. The kids really look forward to popcorn and a homemade treat on Family Fun Night.

    A Lighter Lemon Muffin

    February 27, 2010 /

Lemon was on my mind yesterday and I was debating between making a lemon tart or lemon muffins. Well with my kids in mind, I went with lemon muffins. I decided to take my recipe to a new level. I had already made changes to it and made it several times but this time I decided to make more. For some reason I find pleasure in dissecting a recipe. Weird, I know. Believe me there are recipes that I won’t do this too if I really want something sweet!
