    “Just Like” Starbuck’s Pumpkin Scones

I’ve been on a scone making kick for some time now and it’s time I combine my love for making scones with my love of pumpkin. Every year Starbuck’s makes a delicious pumpkin scone with a thick sugar glaze that I look forward to devouring alongside a cup of coffee or my all time favorite, a chai latte. It represents Fall in every bite!

    Mini Vanilla Bean Scones

I love the petite vanilla bean scones offered at Starbucks. Even better, they sell them in sets of three for a discount but I tend to run into a little problem each time that leaves me empty handed. I’ll order one set of three, hand them back to a pair of hands ready for the sweet vanilla bean goodness, who then passes out the other two, and poof they are gone. I end up wondering why I didn’t just order four in the first place. Solution. Make my own!

The glaze gives it that zip and just rounds out the whole scone with each bite. Don’t let this recipe pass you up if you love the flavor of key limes or citrus. Enjoy!

    Orange Cream Scones

I love scones and I wanted to make some with a light orange flavor. I found a great recipe to start with and then got a little creative. The original recipe calls for sour cream and I decided to replace the sour cream with an orange cream yogurt. I also added orange extract and the zest of one orange. This time around I used a round cookie cutter instead of cutting into triangles. I sprinkled them with sanding sugar and later added an orange glaze. They turned out light, fluffy, and had a great orange flavor. Enjoy with a hot cup of tea or coffee. Next time I may add mini…
