Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

I think the picture captures just how undeniably good these cookies are. Whenever I need a chocolate fix and need it in a hurry this recipe is the solution. I found it on Allrecipes and had to try it out because it had so many rave reviews. The reviews do not lie!

I still had to add my touch to the recipe and decided to just take out a small portion of butter. I cut out 4 tablespoons and it did not compromise the flavor or texture in any way. I also cut the sugar down to one cup, replacing a half cup of white sugar with brown sugar. I love semi sweet chips but per reviews you can add peanut butter or mint chips with great results. I really wanted a chocolate chocolate chip cookie so I stick with the semi sweet ;-). I used my medium cookie scoop and then pressed the cookies down just a little bit. This method works very well and helps the cookie bake evenly.

With the changes I made you still end up with a rich brownie like cookie that will cure any chocolate attack. They have always turned out great. Get your glass of milk ready!

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
adapted from Allrecipes

3/4 cup butter (1 1/2 sticks), softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; stir into the butter mixture until well blended. Mix in the chocolate chips. Drop by rounded tablespoons (original directions say teaspoonfuls but I like a bigger cookie) onto ungreased cookies sheets. I line my cookie sheets with parchment paper and always get good results. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes just until set. Cool slightly on cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks. Enjoy!
